Here at NLT, we are now offering Module 4 CPC.

We had our first Module 4 CPC course at our Stowmarket Training centre this week.

The driver, Dean, passed with flying colours. Congratulations Dean!

Module 4 CPC.

What is CPC Module 4 HGV?

Module 4 CPC is The Driver CPC vehicle safety demonstration test (also known as Part 4). It must be passed to become a professional LGV/HGV driver. If you want to drive a lorry, bus or coach professionally for a living you will need to obtain the Driver CPC, including the Driver CPC Part 4.

How the test works

You’re tested on being able to:

  • load the vehicle following safety rules and to keep it secure
  • stop trafficking in illegal immigrants- e.g. what you should do if you have returned to the vehicle after taking a comfort break on a ferry or at a border crossing
  • assess emergency situations
  • reduce physical risks to yourself or others
  • do a walkaround vehicle safety check

The test is made up of 5 topics from the Driver CPC syllabus. You can score up to 20 points for each topic.

To pass you have to score at least 15 out of 20 in each topic area and have an overall score of at least 80 out of 100.

Test result

At the end of your test the examiner will tell you if you’ve passed.

If you fail, you can book another driving test straight away, but you cannot take it for another 3 clear working days.
